Developed in collaboration with neuroscientist Elim Hong, from the Sorbonne University in Paris. The two large sets of panels depicts activity in the two lobes of the brain and the habenula, which has been triggered by ingestion of nicotine.
The brain's habenula (habenula means "small rein") is important for emotional response. The four types of brain activity are shown with the four differing patterns, and culminate with the five, most active, neuropils which are depicted as the larger, more prominent cobalt blue and guilded regions.
