Paris Artwork from 59 Rivoli
My atelier, 59 Rivoli, was an art squat for 8 years, before the city of Paris teamed up with the artists to make the former Bank Building blocks from the Louvre, into a legal artist cooperative. Walls and staircase feature murals and grafitti, the facade of the building in the busy shopping area is festooned with large sculptures crawling along the balconies. It is fun, gritty and wonderous. The 30 artists come from all over France and the world, and the styles are strong and eclectic.
My new work is very much influenced by this melange, and I am happy to play and experiment, mixing in diverse and odd imagery and materials.
